Turbine Design Optimization Project
Red River College TACAM
Winnipeg, Manitoba
To address fabrication challenges and improve wind turbine performance, Kelso Energy Ltd. partnered with the Technology Access Centre for Aerospace & Manufacturing (TACAM) at Red River College. Together, they developed a fully optimized 5 kW vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) using CAD modeling and CFD simulations.
The result was a standardized blueprint delivered in Fall 2017, with final designs completed in January 2018. These blueprints became the foundation for the VAWT now licensed and manufactured by Mundo-Power.
